SWAT Team

 Our SWAT (Superior Winning Attitude) Team focuses on teaching future black belts about leadership, positive attitudes, the art of instruction, and setting a good example for younger dojo students. This elite team meets once a month to sharpen their skills. During these monthly meetings, students learn about leadership development, how to teach and communicate karate material to others, the importance of philanthropy through community projects, and positive team building.  

To join the SWAT Team, students must meet the following requirements:  

• Exhibit exemplary behavior on the dojo floor 
• Be a purple belt or above 
• Be 10 years old or older 
• Maintain a school GPA of 3.0 or higher 
• Demonstrate good behavior at school and at home 
• Show an interest in learning how to teach Shorin Ryu Karate to others  

This is a responsibility that should not be taken lightly. Students who are interested in joining the SWAT Team and meet the requirements should express their interest to Kyoshi or an existing SWAT Team member.
